The National Assembly Election Campaign in Online Media and on Political Forces' Facebook Pages
Here we present selected statistical findings from the second part (official campaign of the 2026 National Elections) of the three-part study, "Always Connected Armenia” and the 2026 Elections", conducted by the "Region" Research Center.
The data presented here provides an overview of:
• The characteristics of media coverage of the official election campaign by three Armenian media outlets (Aravot.am, CivilNet.am, and Factor.am) and two foreign media outlets (Azatutyun.am and Sputnik Armenia).
• The Facebook campaign strategies of the participating political forces. For this purpose, we examined the official Facebook pages of the political parties and alliances involved in the elections.
At this stage, we have analyzed all collected content—3,390 materials from media outlets and 4,770 posts from Facebook pages - from multiple perspectives. In particular, we examined:
• Who spoke during the campaign, whom they spoke about, how they spoke, and the issues they addressed.
• How the studied media outlets conveyed the messages of participating political forces, electoral administration bodies, and other relevant actors to their audiences.
• How the participating political forces communicated with voters through Facebook.
• What level of audience interactivity has there been with the content circulated by the campaigning political forces.
The full report on media and social media coverage of the 2026 Armenian elections will be published at a later stage. It will also include an analysis of media and social media reactions to post-election developments.
